The Deloitte Ride Across Britain is an annual cycling event open to all, from novice to elite cyclist. The route from Lands' End to John O'Groats is 969 miles which is covered in nine days.
Requirements
In order the accommodate the participants and crew, camp sites are built along the route at Land's End, Oakhampton, Ludlow, Haydock, Penrith, Hamilton, Fort William, Kyle of Sutherland and John O'Groats.
Each site requires quality assured water for drinking/catering, toilets, showers and laundry.
During the course of each day the riders need rehydrating.
Solutions
Liquiline operate three teams of site plumbers. Each day, one team will be building water infrastructure on a site, while another team manages a live site, at the same time the third team are uplifting equipment and travelling to another site. This process carries on for nine days.
Each team is equipped with dedicated drinking water storage and pumping equipment, together with systems for managing the waste water produced at each site.
The plumbing teams are supported by our dedicated drinking water tanker fleet, which abstract the water needed each day (under licence) from the various water utility networks along the route.
To support the riders during the day, we provide the organisers with 4x4 vehicles which tow 2000 litre water bowsers, at which water bottles can be refilled. These vehicles are also fully loaded with energy bars and bananas to boost the energy levels of those taking part.
